Fuel filter

My motor started to idle rough and got to a point where it would hardly idle at all. I took the carb apart and cleaned the jets. The holes in the low speed jet are VERY small. I blew everything out and put it back together. It nows idles better than it ever did and runs much smoother at low RPM. Before it had a rough spot at about 1,300 rpm. It would run smooth at idle, run rough at about 1,300 and then run smooth on up to max throttle. It now is smooth at all RPMs.
I'm not sure of the carb had dirt in it right from the start or if it somehow got in since I have been using it. As a precaution I installed a Sierra fuel/water separator and 10 micron filter. Probably overkill but it makes me feel more comfortable with the way I use my motor.
Removing and cleaning the carb was not difficult but I wouldn't want to have to do it in the middle of a trip.
In the picture you can also see the through-the-bulkhead fitting I used to get the fuel line from the tank area to the motor area.
