flipped over
June 19 we got a bunch of friends together and flipped the boat over in the barn. It was a bit more work than I expected because of the somewhat
confined space. The bay is about 12' wide, and there is a boat rack overhead about 6'10" above the floor. The rack restricts the lift, so when
the boat is fully on edge there is not much additional clearance for slide tires and padding under, etc. The restricted width means you have to move
it about 5' sideways partway thru the rollover. It worked ok, but it sure would be easier outside. I'm glad I had about 10 still-sober helpers.
For the next turnover I may just carry it outside, roll it, and lift onto the trailer for completion of the interior.
We went away on vacation for a couple weeks, now I'm ready to start fairing, then off to the Small Reach Regatta for a week with our Caledonia Yawl,
then back to work. An October launch, hopefully before the first snow, looks possible.
